This is Maja. One of the wonderful women who is supporting and working with us for several years. Maja has two beautiful wild boys. Yesterday was the first time in 40 days that her boys were allowed to leave the house for one hour only. #WhoMadeYourClothes FASHION REVOLUTION WEEK __________________ Our sustainable bikinis, swimsuits and leggings are made by wonderful women in a medium-sized family run business in Portugal. The staff consists of 40 collaborators, who work 8 hours per day starting at 8 am. In times of demanding workload there might be an hour overtime paid at a premium rate. The salaries are higher than the statutory minimum wage, paid 14 times per year. Due to the physical strains i.e. prolonged sitting while stitching and sewing the factory offers physiotherapy and other services for the bodily wellbeing. Medical tests on a regular basis are standard there. We periodically visit our factory to meet these lovely ladies. Thus we can be sure that these working conditions are implemented in practice. _________________________________ Unsere nachhaltigen Bikinis werden von tollen Frauen in einem mittelständischen, familiengeführtem Unternehmen in Portugal produziert. Dort sind circa 40 Arbeiter*innen beschäftigt. Die Arbeitszeit beträgt 8 Stunden, Arbeitsbeginn ist um 8 Uhr morgens. Bei sehr hohem Arbeitsvolumen wird im Ausnahmefall eine Stunde extra gearbeitet, für die ein höherer Lohn bezahlt wird. Das Lohnniveau liegt oberhalb des Mindestlohns, es werden 14 Gehälter gezahlt. Da insbesondere die Näher*innen fast den ganzen Tag sitzen, bietet unser Hersteller Physiotherapie und diverse Behandlungen für das körperliche Wohlbefinden an - neben regelmäßigen medizinischen Kontrollen. HOME SWEET HOME 🏠 Froh zuhause zu sein klingt vielleicht in Anbetracht der aktuellen Lage ein wenig merkwürdig, aber ich bin dennoch erleichtert nach einer wundervollen Reise, zauberhaften Begegnungen und inspirierenden Erfahrungen sicher mit meiner Familie wieder in den eigenen vier Wänden zu sein. Die letzten Wochen waren wie überall doch von Unsicherheit überschattet. Und ganz ehrlich, irgendwie fühlt man sich dann ja doch gut auf dem eigenen eingesessenen Sofa. Nun müssen wir uns schleunigst in den neuen Alltag einfinden, denn ich freue mich riesig auf euch, meine liebe INASKA Community ❤️ Eure Mareike ________________________________________ Happy to be home might sound strange in these crazy times.
